    Refine edge, smart radius, expand or contract to define edge.

Magic Wand Tool
  Point sample or average 5x5, anti alias to smooth, contiguous , hold shift key to select missing areas, inverse to select item.

Color Range Command to select colors
  Localize color clusters keeps it close to what is selected.  Click to include.
Add Hue Sat layer to adjust the selected colors.

Special Techniques and Tricks

• To Float the background hold ALT and double click the background layer, rename layer
• If not floated then increase in canvas size replaces with background color
• If background is floated then any increase in canvas size extends with transparent border.
