Below you will find a selection of videos and also instructions from searches.  I recommend you backup your machine and create a system recovery disc before you try any of the repairs below.  It is assumed you are using Windows 10.

  • Note: 1TB Cheap, maybe not best though I have had no troubles.
  • I suggest you have a usb to SATA cable $9  to make it be an external drive to format it and try it out. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07F7WDZGT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Backup system and create recovery disk.

If you do not have a USB drive to create Windows 10 recovery disk, you can use a CD or DVD to create a system repair disc. ... If your system crashes before youmade a recovery drive, you can create a Windows 10 recovery USB disk from another computer to boot your computer having problems.

Use a fresh 16 or 32 Gb Flash Drive.  Prior to creating the Recovery Drive find your flash drive in Windows Explorer and note the drive letter.  Right click on the icon for the flash drive and select properties.  Verify it is empty then rename it "RecoveryW10" without the Quotes.  Click OK.

  1. Connect a USB drive to a free USB port. Make sure the USB drive has enough space to copy your recovery drive. Copying your recovery drive takes more than 16 GB of hard drive space.
    • WARNING: This process will delete everything on the USB Flash Drive. Make sure you back up any files on the USB flash drive you want to keep before continuing.
  2. Click Windows Start
. It's the button with the Windows logo. By default, it's in the lower-left corner of the screen in the taskbar.
  3. Type Recovery Drive. This displays the "Recovery Drive" app in the Windows Start menu.
  4. Click the Recovery Drive app. It's the app that has an icon that resembles an external hard drive when you search "Recovery Drive".
  5. Check
"Backup system files to the recovery drive". When this option is checked, it copies the recovery partition to the USB drive.[1]
  6. Click Next. It's in the lower-right corner of the Recovery Drive app window. The Recovery Drive app will do a scan and determine how much space is needed to create a recovery drive.
  7. Select the USB drive and click Next. All drives are listed under "Available Drive(s)" in the Recovery Drive app. Click Next when you select the USB drive you want to copy to.
  8. Click Create. It's in the lower-right corner of the Recovery Drive app. This will copy the recovery partition to the USB drive. Allow about 15 minutes for this to complete.
    • After the USB Recovery Drive is created, any files previously stored on the USB drive cannot be recovered.
  9. Click Finish. When the Recovery Drive app is finished creating the Recovery Drive, a message appears telling you that the Recovery Drive is ready. It also informs you that everything in the recovery partition has now been copied to the USB drive. You can now delete the recovery partition to save space.
  10. Label the recovery drive as noted in the application.
Note: you will be able to boot a defective computer from this flash drive and get to some of the system diagnostics to help resolve problems.

Make certain you have a complete backup of your hard drive on a regular basis.
