An alternate process for photo business cards. - Slightly different results
- Select photo, crop to 1.5 aspect ration (3.5 in x 2 in) at 600DPI
- Save Photo as bitmap .bmp if there is text data
- Using Photoshop or other software type the text overlay.
- For Photoshop set an internal guidline of .25 inches on edges
- Generally use 14pt for Name and 10pt for data
- Save photo as a bmp. (or JPG)
- This will be 2100 x 1200 pixel's
- Using Irfanview "canvas" feature place a border on the print: (grey) 1px top and 2px right and left
- Using IrfanView software (Free, search CNET IRFANVIEW)
- Using Irfanview, Image, Create Panorama
- Create a vertical panorama of three images
- Using Resize, with fixed aspect ratio resize to 2048x3511 pixels (alternate is
- This will end up 2048 x 3511.
- (That is a reduction to 97.5% to account for edge crop of commercial printers)
- Save this resulting reduces tri image
- In Irfanview go to Image, Canvas Size, then select a good border color
- R:: 41 G: 166 B:192 H:127 S:156 L:110
- Set the borders as follows:
- Left side : 176
- Right side: 176
- Top Side: 45
- Bottom Side: 45
- You should now have a bordered group of three cards which are 4 x 6 inches, or 2100 x 3601 Pixels
- Send these to a commercial printer and "test" to see that their machine does not crop more of the card than the border. If there is extra cropping then adjust the borders to more or less Pixels and try again.

- Begin with an Irfanview jpg at 600dpi
- Crop to an aspect ratio of 1.75
- re-size to width-3.5inches
- Validate that it is 3.5 x 2 inches (2100x1200) pixels
- Save as Master Photo
- Open Photoshop and write text on card, save card.
- 14pt for Name and 10pt for data, bold the name
- Save as jpg
- In irfanview:
- Using Canvas Resize place a 1px top/bottom and 2px right/left grey border
- Do a vertical panorama of three photos resulting in 2100x3600
- re-size to 96 percent (2016 x 3456)
- Canvas-size to add border of top/bottom 70px, right/left 185px use blue or black borders
- Borders blue: 128,144,234
- Grey: 143,143,143
- Black: 0,0,0
- Take to retailer and print at 4x6 inches. The changes above should leave a margin to account for machine mis-alignment.
- Cut to card size.

- >Load photo and convert to layer by <alt> double click
