This set of Pages has been created to support Field Day 2026 Demonstrations for the Federal Way Amateur Radio club located at Lakota Park on June 27 between 11am and 6pm. Demonstrations will be provided for  visitors, we encourage STEM students and anyone interested in ham radio licenses to visit and ask questions.

Field Day: Every fourth full weekend in June, tens of thousands of amateur radio operators across North America pack up their gear, leave the comfort of their home shacks, and head into local parks, emergency centers, and remote fields for ARRL Field Day. Part emergency preparedness exercise and part public open house, it is the single largest annual gathering in ham radio. Whether you are a newly licensed operator looking to get some hands-on time at a dedicated 'Get On The Air' (GOTA) station, a curious member of the public wanting to see emergency communications in action, or a STEM student looking for cutting-edge technology, Field Day 2026 with the Federal Way Amateur Radio Club is the place to go. Spectrum Notes

During Field Day 2026 a "live" spectrum analyzer will be available for visitors to "see" the Radio Frequency spectrum.  AM radio, FM radio, Cell Towers, Bluetooth, WiFi and other portions of the spectrum  will be available.

WSPR Notes

WSPR stands for Weak Signal Propagation Reporter.  We are using a 200mw custom WSPR transmitter into a Hamstick dipole.  Data from world wide monitoring sites is collected and records show where a local transmitted signal is detected.  With this creates a current picture of the status of each band is available in map form.

Radio Frequency Propagation depends on the current state of the Ionosphere and time of day.  Charts and links are in this section.
